Read the AIPRF appeal

January 21, 1999

Dear friends/comrades,

Please find attatched herewith an appeal from All India Peoples Resistance Forum (AIPRF) concerning a proposed campaign against state repression on the revolutionary movements in India, from the month of January to the end of April, 1999.

AIPRF views that the brutal repression that is being unleashed on the revolutionary movement in India could be considered to be a fall-out of the increasing fascisization of the Indian state with the greater clout that the Hindu fascist forces have come to possess upon the state machinery in the country. The government plans to intensify this repression further in the coming days.

AIPRF appeals to all toiling people, democratic-minded individuals and most especially. friendly organisations in the international community that they take up the following activities against state repression on revolutionary movements:

i) Campaigns in as many places against state repression
-AIPRF can send you campaign material (leaflet booklet, posters, fund cards, video cassette, etc. ) on demand.

ii) Signature campaigns
- The signatures collected could be sent to the Amnesty International and to the President of India. Kindly send a copy to AIPRF.

iii) Fund raising campaigns for the anti-repression campaign in India
- Kindly send the contributions to the address given below.

Today, the revolutionary movement in India, along with nationality and other democratic movements hold out a great promise for the future of the workers, peasants, oppressed nationalities, women, oppressed castes indigenous peoples, religious and linguistic minorities and all toiling and oppressed people of this vast and sprawling country of one billion people. Hope your valuable help and participation would enable our campaign to achieve the desired results, i.e. mobilizing popular pressure against the present phase of repression.

In solidarity with the struggling peoples everywhere,

Sincerely yours,
(G.N. SAIBABA)
